April 21st - Lima, Peru

LIMA

Lima is the capital & largest city in Peru. It runs at a slower pace than other many South American metropolises.

Its rhythm is more traditional and its people reflect a steadier, calmer constitution...

On April 20th,we departed KLIA at 10ish pm,transit Amsterdam for a long 5 hrs - we managed to distract ourselves in the electronic outlets at the Schiphol Airport ! with the latest sound systems, cameras and phone gadgets.

April 21st : After almost 30hrs of flying and transit, we finally arrive at Lima, PERU at 6pm.......To welcomed us was Moises of Inkawasitravels. loading onto van with Moises (orange shirt) loading up onto van... all looking exhausted...

...and thank goodness, with no delay we were transferred to our very comfortable accomodation "Hotel Costa Castellana".

Moises - pleasant and very friendly man. And it was him who helped us with our planning on almost every detail of our trip incl 3-star accom, visits to archeological sites, domestic transfers, meals, and most importantly to get the Peru Govt trekking permits. Also arranged a private group trek for the 4 days/3 nights Inka Trail as we requested. Upon getting the permit dates confirmed only could we plan the rest of the trip. So you can imagine the numerous emails flying across the continents ...
All our arrangements and even deposit payments were made through the Internet - have to trust the system !

Hotel Castellana,Lima - a very quaint little 20-room boutique hotel with a cute atrium in the center foyer, surrounded by rooms. It definitely has Spanish influenced in its achitecture.
